The mission of Anderson Project Graduation (PG) is to plan, promote and raise funds to implement a safe, fun, drug and alcohol-free graduation celebration for the graduating class. The date of PG25 will be on graduation night, Tuesday, June 3rd, at Shalom Austin JCC.
Anderson High School has been providing Project Graduation since 1999. Each year, approximately 85% of the graduating class attends the FREE event. This all-night event keeps our students off our roads on an evening that traditionally has a higher risk of motor vehicle accidents. The entire evening is free to all 500+ graduates to reward them for a job well done. We will give away prizes throughout the night to encourage maximum participation.
To keep this event free of charge for all students, event costs are covered by tax-deductible donations from individuals and businesses in our community. We will conduct several fundraisers in the coming months. In addition to volunteering, here’s how you can help:
History of Project Graduation
Project Graduation was conceived in Maine in the 1980s after 18 teens lost their lives in drug and alcohol-related crashes following high school graduations. The event was so well received that it was quickly adopted by other high schools throughout the nation.
This is a totally self-supporting program sponsored by Anderson parents and our community; we receive no funding from the school budget. Project Graduation is a certified 501c3 as a charitable entity; thus, all donations are tax-free.
